Payments, refunds & cancellations

Last updated September 2026

Thuma AI uses Paystack to process purchases for Thuma subscriptions and usage credits. This page explains what customers buy, what we charge, and what happens when a payment is cancelled, fails, or needs review.

What Thuma sells

Thuma sells access to its own governed AI assistant and related usage entitlements. It is not a listing-only service. Any jobs, bursaries, funding, or other opportunities shown in Thuma are discovery and preparation features; Thuma does not charge a listing fee or take a commission from an organisation because it appears in a user's research.

Do we process payments for third parties?

No. Thuma does not collect, hold, or distribute payments on behalf of clients, employers, funders, or other third-party organisations that may be referenced in the product. Paystack payments made through Thuma are payments to Thuma for Thuma subscriptions or Thuma credit bundles only. Third-party services have their own payment arrangements and terms.

Current customer pricing

Prices are displayed in South African rand before checkout. The catalogue currently shown in Thuma is:

  • Plus: R200 per month.
  • Pro: R500 per month.
  • 10 credits: R10 one-off purchase.
  • 50 credits: R45 one-off purchase.
  • 200 credits: R150 one-off purchase.

The price, item, billing interval, and cancellation instructions are shown again on the Paystack checkout page. We may change the catalogue, but a subscription already authorised is charged only at the amount and interval agreed at checkout until it is cancelled or otherwise ends.

Fee structure

  • Thuma charges the displayed subscription or credit-bundle price in ZAR.
  • Thuma does not add a listing fee, wallet fee, or separate platform surcharge.
  • Paystack's payment-processing fees are governed by the merchant agreement between Thuma and Paystack. They are not added as a hidden customer charge by Thuma; any amount the customer must approve is shown before payment is submitted.
  • Taxes or other charges are shown at checkout when applicable.

Subscriptions and cancellation

A subscription is recurring only after the customer agrees to the amount, monthly interval, purpose, and cancellation terms on Paystack. You can cancel from Thuma Settings or by asking Thuma in WhatsApp to cancel your subscription. Cancellation stops future renewals. If the current period has already been paid, access remains available until the paid period ends; it is not silently removed because you cancelled.

A pending checkout that is cancelled or fails does not activate a plan. A failed renewal does not grant a new period, and Thuma keeps the already-paid period visible while the payment state is resolved. A late or out-of-terms payment is not used to grant extra entitlement and is reviewed for correction or refund.

Credit bundles

Credits are usage entitlements for Thuma. They are not money, are not transferable, are not withdrawable, and are not a digital wallet balance. Credits are added only after Paystack confirms a matching completed payment. A failed, cancelled, or amount-mismatched payment grants no credits.

Refunds and payment corrections

Contact Thuma Support if you were charged but the agreed subscription or credit bundle was not delivered, if you see a duplicate or incorrect amount, or if a payment was made after a cancellation. We verify the Paystack transaction and either correct the entitlement or arrange the appropriate refund through the payment process. We do not promise a refund for credits already consumed, except where required by applicable law or where the problem was caused by Thuma.

Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and other applicable law are not limited by this policy. Payment records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance even after an account is deleted.

Digital wallet

Thuma does not offer a digital wallet, stored monetary value, cash-out facility, or person-to-person transfer service. The credit balance shown in Thuma is an internal measure of remaining usage entitlement only.

Payment security

Thuma does not ask for or store your full card number, CVV, or online-banking password. Payment details are entered on Paystack's hosted checkout. Never send payment credentials or one-time codes in WhatsApp or to Thuma Support.

Bank confirmation and business documents

Paystack may request an unprotected bank confirmation letter dated within the last six months and other onboarding documents. Those documents must be supplied by the business account holder directly through Paystack's secure dashboard. Thuma does not generate, alter, or publish bank documents.
