Is Thuma SME free to start?
Yes. The Free plan comes with 100 starter credits and no card. Paid plans are Starter at R99, Business at R299 and Team at R799 a month, and you can top up with credits in a busy month.
How do I set up my business?
Tap “Start Thuma SME on WhatsApp” and send the message that opens. WhatsApp verifies your number and Thuma replies with a secure link to your business workspace, where you add your business name, prices and customers — or send a photo of your price list and Thuma drafts it for you.
Does Thuma message my customers by itself?
Nothing reaches a customer without your say-so. Thuma drafts quotes, invoices and reminders, shows you exactly what will be sent, and sends only when you approve. The riskiest actions, like voiding an invoice, also need a code sent to your phone.
Can my customers chat to my business on WhatsApp?
Yes, once you connect your business’s WhatsApp number. Thuma answers questions about your products, prices and bookings, and passes complaints, refunds, discounts and anything unclear to you.
Can my staff use it?
Yes. Add admins and staff; each role only sees and does what it’s allowed to — for example, staff can book customers and send quotes, but can’t see your invoices. The Business plan includes 2 users and Team includes 5.
Is my business kept separate from my personal Thuma?
Yes. Your business records live in your Thuma SME workspace, not in a personal Thuma account. If you run more than one business, each one is kept separate and you switch between them.
What happens to my data?
Thuma is built for POPIA. You choose what it remembers, files are used for the task you gave it, and you can export or delete your data whenever you like.
Can I cancel a paid plan?
Yes, anytime from Settings → Plan. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
